Honda Pressure Washers: Gas, Electric And Commercial Power Washer

Sometimes an ordinary garden hose does not suffice when it comes to cleaning especially tough, grimy outdoor surfaces. Situations like these call for a pressure washer, or a power washer as it is often called. A pressure washer is a machine that employs water pressure to substantially amplify the power of a regular garden hose. This not only does a much more thorough cleaning job, but makes life a little easier for whoever is doing the cleaning. It also reduces the water bill -- by concentrating the water out of the hose, it actually uses much less water than usual.

Power washer are affordable and accessible to the average consumer, and many manufacturers have introduced their own commercial power washer for private use. Among these is the Honda pressure washer. The Honda pressure washer is considered by many to be one of the best. The Honda pressure washer comes in a variety of models, but is one of the handiest tools a person can get for a really heavy-duty cleaning job.

The Honda pressure washer either employs gas or electricity as a source of power during use. A gas pressure washer runs on a horsepower level of around five to seven, and is often able to generate higher levels of pressure than an electric pressure washer. For this reason, a gas pressure washer is better for cleaning very dirty and very sturdy surfaces. On the other hand, an electric pressure washer is preferable for cleaning more delicate surfaces – like house windows – for which a high amount of pressure is still necessary. Other brands of power washers also make both gas and electric varieties.

The pump inside of a Honda pressure washer (and others) also determines its strength. They are measured by units known as PSI – pounds per square inch – for pressure. GPM, or gallons per minute, are what gouges the flow of the water. The PSI and GPM are the first things to look for when considering a pressure washer.

More important than the horsepower of a washer is the pump inside the washer. Pumps are rated in both PSI (pounds per square inch), which measures pressure, and GPM (gallons per minute), which measures water flow. When considering a Honda pressure washer, be sure to check for these specifications. The higher each number is, the more powerful the Honda pressure washer will be.

Something vital to remember is that a Honda pressure washer is not always sold as a Honda pressure washer. It is called such because of the Honda-manufactured engine that powers the pressure washer, but the machine will be sold under the name of another manufacturer. For example, DeWalt markets a Honda pressure washer, powered by a Honda-made engine. Honda itself does not build or market the pressure washing machines, only the engine. Honda advises owners of Honda pressure washers to contact the brand-name company, and not Honda, in case of problems.

One can find a Honda pressure washer at chain stores like Home Depot, or any one of many Internet shopping outlets. Southwest Trading, for instance, has a very long list of choices in a Honda-engine gas or electric pressure washer. A Honda pressure washer is often at least several hundred dollars more expensive than a typical commercial power washer. The cheaper models, like the HC2700HA, are under $550, while the VB3020HCP311 V-Belt Drive is nearly $1,300.

Any electric or gas pressure washer is necessary to maintain the outdoor cleanliness of a home. But if a homeowner can afford the expense, he or she cannot go wrong with a Honda pressure washer. Whether gas or electric, it will be sure to keep a house's outer walls looking respectable, if not splendid.
